See What All the Buzz Is About  at the Parsippany –Troy Hills Public Library System this summer!

We have a fun summer planned for all ages: Children; teens; adults

We’ll start our summer by kicking off the program on May 30 at Veteran’s Park, Route 46 in Parsippany. Drop by anytime between 4p.m. and 7p.m. There will be entertainment, refreshments, games, prizes, a chance to meet our Library mascot and most importantly the chance to sign up for the Buzz! You’ll also see the library staff from all our locations and they will be having a wild and crazy time entertaining you! It’s free!

 
Catch the Reading Bug !!

Children are invited to join a special club called Catch the Reading Bug.

Wait until you see the prizes we have for you! All you need to do is borrow something from the library or attend a program. Look for our upcoming calendar to see the special events planned for the summer! Special evening programs for children will be held on Wednesdays at the Main Library; on Tuesdays at the Lake Hiawatha Branch Library and Monday at the Mount Tabor Branch Library. Programs include musical events, magicians and other amazing entertainment.

Here are some of the prizes you can win:

 ** Children who read for 8 hours get a fine-free card **

**  Children who read for 16 hours get a cool decorate-your-own, environmentally friendly canvas bags **

**  Children who read for 20 hours (not all in one day!) earn a ticket to a free ice cream social (can you say: Hey, I need to cool off?) ** 

**  Children who read for 24 hours get a ticket to an awesome closing event! **

 

All summer long, kids can earn free raffle tickets (for every 2 hours of reading) and for attending programs which will qualify them to be eligible for our fantastic grand prizes (awarded at the end of the summer). You can also earn a raffle ticket by visiting each of our library locations!

These include:

**  First Prize: A Wii game system **

(for the preK set – a basket of books and dvds)

** 2nd prize: Nintendo DS **

 ** 3rd prize: Personal DVD player  **

 
Metamorphosis

Teens are invited to “Metamorphosis “

Ages 11-18 (Pre-teens and Teens) get an opportunity to win prizes as follows:

** 8 hours of reading: fine-free card **

** 16 hours of reading: Environmentally-friendly travel mug **

** 20 hours: Ticket for the ice cream social **

** 24 hours: Ticket to an ending event **

You also earn a raffle ticket for every 2 hours of reading which gives you a chance to win:

** First prize: iPod touch, 8 gig **

** Second prize: Nintendo DS **

** Third prize: Personal DVD player **

 
Adult Participation

Adults can also participate and win prizes. For those of you who are parents or grandparents, this gives you an opportunity to set a great example for your children or grandchildren. Everyone can see what the Library offers for adults (libraries have really changed since you were a kid!) which includes downloadable audio books.
Each item borrowed equals 1 raffle ticket. After you hand in 5 raffles you get a fine-free card.

After you hand in 10, you receive an environmentally-friendly travel mug; 15 raffles earns you a ticket to the end of the summer event.
